In the app:
- Create an account if you haven't already
- Pull up the account barcode at cash register OR self check out
- Scan the barcode
- Opt-in for e-receipt
- That's it - enjoy!
On foodbasics.ca:
- Create an account if you haven't already
- Sign in and go to "My Account" and click on "My Profile"
- Go to the "My communication preferences" section and click on "Edit my preferences"
- Here you will find a check box to receive your store purchase receipts by email. Simply check the box to receive your e-receipts or uncheck to remove this option
To stop receiving e-receipts, log in to your account on foodbasics.ca, and access your communication preferences in your profile. You can then uncheck the box to unsubscribe.
Once registered, the cashier will offer you the option to receive the receipt by email following your payment. If you choose to do so, the cashier will validate your email address. This address will be partially hidden for security reasons (e.g., Ma***[email protected]). All you have to do is accept!
Yes! If you are offered an electronic receipt at checkout in-store, simply decline the offer and the printed receipt will be given to you. Alternatively, if an e-receipt is sent to you, you can ask the cashier for the printed copy of the receipt as well.
There are no paper receipts provided for online orders.

For in-store purchases, you can ask the cashier to send you a duplicate or you can contact Customer Care.

You receive your receipt at the email address you signed up with on our app or on foodbasics.ca.
To change your email address on foodbasics.ca please login to your account and access "My profile" in "My Account". Here you can modify your email address and your password at any time. On the Food Basics app please go to "My Account" to change your email address.

While our emails take your communication preferences into account, the receipt itself will be in the same language as the printed version you would have received in the store.
First, check that the email address for your foodbasics.ca account is accurate and functional. Ensure your inbox is not full and that you can receive emails.
Check to see if your receipt was inadvertently dropped in your inbox's junk mail folder. E-receipts are sent from the email address [email protected]. Add it to your address book to ensure that you receive electronic mails from this address.
If everything seems in order, contact Customer Service at 1-866-595-5554 to report your problem and request your e-receipt.
Please check your deleted mailbox. If your confirmation email is not there, contact us at 1-866-595-5554. Our customer service department will search for your receipt and email it back to you.
