A pre-authorization of the estimated order amount plus 15% may be made on your credit card to confirm the amount required for the order.
Once your order has been assembled, only the actual amount of the transaction will be charged to your credit card. The total amount will be finalized based on discounts, promotions and prices in effect, availability and actual weight of products, applicable fees, taxes and the selected store and service. The amount withheld will be released within 3-7 days depending on your financial institution.
If a product does not meet your expectations, please use our online refund tool, available directly in your account's purchase history. This tool will allow you to choose the products for which you want a refund, choose the reason for the refund, and submit your request.
Please note that only one online refund request is allowed per order and the request must be submitted within 3 days of receiving your order.

A $3 assembly fee is charged for pickup services. There are no additional fees.
For those who cannot wait for their order the next day, Food Basics offers same-day pickup services. Apart from the standard $3 assembly fee, there are no additional costs for same-day pickups.

Ordering
Finding the items you love is easy! Try one of these ways:

- Shop by Aisles, just like you would if you were in-store.
- If you know what you're looking for, enter the name of the product in the search bar near the top of the page.

Click on the cart icon next to the product you want, then increase or decrease the quantity using the “+” or “-” buttons. You can also click on the product and follow the same steps.
You can adjust quantities or delete items at any time before confirming your order.
Yes, the minimum amount to place an online order is $35 before fees and taxes.
You can place your order up to 14 days in advance.
Note: To take advantage of the current flyer's deals, you'll need to schedule your pick-up no later than Wednesday of the current flyer period which runs from Thursday to Wednesday.
Choosing a date after the current flyer period may affect the prices you pay since different savings and promotions may be in effect at the time of order pickup.
Electronic coupons available at foodbasics.ca can be used with online orders. Head to the My Coupons page. Click on the available coupons to add them to your cart. Coupons added to your cart that are valid at the time of pick-up will automatically be applied to eligible purchases.
You can change your order before cut-off time. Simply go to the Order History section, select the order you'd like to change, add or remove the products and confirm your order update by clicking on "Update my order".

You can cancel your order before cut-off time. Simply go to the Order History section, select the order you'd like to cancel, and confirm your cancellation by clicking on "Cancel my order".

Products are rarely unavailable, but this can happen. If this happens, we do our best to substitute the item with a similar product.
When a substitution is made, the price of the original item ordered is charged, even if the substitution item costs more. However, if the price of your substitution is less than your original selection, you will be charged the lower price of the replacement product instead.
If you're not entirely satisfied with the substitution we make, we'll be happy to refund you. In order to keep our “always in stock” promise, we are also happy to offer you a deferred coupon for the missing product(s). To benefit from this coupon, you have a maximum of 72 hours after picking up your order to get it in-store. Allergies? Be sure to check the ingredients of substituted products.
To provide our customers with the best experience and to ensure we have products available for every order, there are limits to what you can order:
- Produce: 25 units
- Cases of 24 beverages or more: 5 units
- Bulky items: 5 units
- All other products: 12 units

Pickup
On the day of your scheduled pickup, you'll get an email confirming your order details and the scheduled time slot you chose.
You can also check your order status at any time in your Order History.
Absolutely! Food Basics’ in-store staff is trained to ensure the freshness and quality of your order and part of that is being patient while you take your time to check your order. You’ll also need to check any substitutions that might have been made. Stickers are placed on substituted items to make them easy for you to spot and approve.
If you're unhappy with any of the items you receive, return them to a Food Basics employee or to any Food Basics store within 14 days. Please make sure you bring your receipt. See Food Basics' return policy for more details.
Sticking to your chosen time slot helps our team prepare orders on time for all our customers. While we can’t get orders ready earlier than asked for, we can hang on to an order a bit longer if you think you’ll be late for your pickup. Give us a call toll-free at 1-866-595-5554 to let us know.

Food Basics staff will carefully assemble your order for easy transfer in one of our complimentary boxes. Please bring your own reusable bags to transfer your order at the time of your grocery pickup.
The only fees you are required to pay are the ones shown on your receipt. Our employees are happy to offer you the best service possible and do so with no expectation of a tip. A tipping option is not available online. If you wish to tip the employee, you must do so in person at the time of pickup.
Pricing
Some promotions are offered exclusively online. Make sure you choose the right store to see the current offers in your local Food Basics. You should generally enjoy the same promotions offered in-store, although there may be some differences between stores. Please read the terms and conditions for promotional offers to see if they apply online.
The prices listed online will be the same as the current prices at the selected Food Basics pickup location.
Simply add the promotional code at checkout and click "Apply".
Please note that promotional codes do not apply to alcohol purchases, nor are these products included in the required minimum amount for the use of promotional codes.
Only one promotional code may be used per order.
Products
You will find most of our in-store products online, however, certain products you see in-store may not always be available online.
Products like lottery tickets, tobacco, newspapers, gift cards, flowers, prepared platters, and hot rotisserie dishes are not currently sold online.
Your order will be prepared by a personal shopper, a dedicated member of the online grocery team who is specially trained to select the freshest items using the same care as if you were doing it yourself.
Photos are used to illustrate the product but don't necessarily reflect the quantity selected. Refer to your shopping cart to see the quantity you've chosen.

While we work hard to ensure each product has the most accurate information, sometimes manufacturers update their ingredient lists. Please don't rely solely on the information presented online and always read and follow labels, warnings, and directions before using or consuming a product as actual product packaging and materials may contain more and/or different information than what is shown on our website.
Yes, you can buy alcoholic products online. The person who will pick up the order must be 19+ and will be asked to show a valid photo ID, as dictated by law. Tobacco is not sold online.
